Based in Birmingham, Michigan, Kristen R. Gross focuses her practice exclusively on estate planning, probate administration, trust administration, guardianships, conservatorships, and probate and trust litigation. For more than two decades, she has helped individuals, families, fiduciaries, trustees, and personal representatives navigate the legal and practical challenges that arise during incapacity planning, estate settlement, trust administration, and family transitions.


As founder of The Law Offices of Kristen R. Gross, P.C., Ms. Gross provides comprehensive estate planning services designed to help clients preserve wealth, protect loved ones, minimize tax exposure, and transfer assets according to their wishes. Her planning practice includes wills, revocable living trusts, powers of attorney, healthcare directives, special needs planning, and incapacity planning strategies.


In addition to planning, Ms. Gross regularly guides personal representatives, trustees, and beneficiaries through Michigan probate and trust administration matters. Her work includes estate settlement, fiduciary guidance, asset inventory and valuation, creditor issues, beneficiary communications, trust administration, and the distribution of estate and trust assets.


A significant portion of her practice also involves representing clients in guardianship and conservatorship matters, including proceedings involving incapacitated adults, individuals with developmental disabilities, and families seeking court-appointed decision-making authority for loved ones.


When disputes arise, Ms. Gross represents clients in probate and trust litigation, including will contests, trust contests, fiduciary disputes, claims involving trustees and personal representatives, trust modifications, and other contested probate court proceedings. Her experience on both the administration and litigation sides of probate matters provides clients with practical insight into avoiding disputes whenever possible and effectively resolving them when necessary.


Known for her educational approach, Ms. Gross regularly presents seminars and professional programs on estate planning, probate administration, trust administration, and fiduciary responsibilities. She has spoken to attorneys, financial professionals, nonprofit organizations, and community groups throughout Michigan, helping individuals better understand the legal and financial issues surrounding incapacity, death, inheritance, and wealth transfer.


Ms. Gross earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and French from Washington University in St. Louis and received her Juris Doctor from Michigan State University College of Law. She is active in the Probate & Estate Planning and Elder Law Sections of the State Bar of Michigan and has earned the Probate and Estate Planning Certificate co-sponsored by the State Bar of Michigan and the Institute of Continuing Legal Education.


Beyond her legal practice, Ms. Gross has established a strong record of community leadership throughout Southeast Michigan. She has served in leadership positions with Gesher Human Services, the Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Detroit, and Temple Beth El, and is a graduate of the Wexner Heritage
